Would-be Kentucky player Enes Kanter said he was not sure what he’d do if a lockout leads to the cancellation of the 2011-12 NBA season.
That led a reporter to ask if he’d play for a professional team in his native Turkey.
“No,” Kanter quickly replied. “Not Turkey.”
Of course, Kanter played three seasons for a professional team his Turkey. That team, Fenerbache Ulker, shared banking and housing records with the NCAA, which ultimately ruled Kanter ineligible for receiving compensation well in excess of permitted levels.
When asked if he harbored ill feelings toward the Turkish pro team, Kanter said, “A little bit.”
